Add a site to Windows 2008 server

Create a folder where you will store the web files, usually in C:\Inetpub then create a wwwroot folder within the new folder. Eg C:\Inetpub\\wwwroot.

Open IIS manager

Right click sites and select add web site.

Input the site name, path to the web folder and hostname (url). Then click ok.

If you wish to add additional host headers (URLs) like www.domainname.com then right click the new site within IIS and select ‘edit bindings’.

Click Add.

Input the additional URL and click ok until you return to IIS.
