Access server via Remote Desktop

Launch the remote desktop client, this can be found via ‘start – programs – accessories – remote desktop connection’. There is a shortcut to this by doing ‘start – run – mstsc – ok’.

Input the IP address or hostname for your server into the computer field and click connect. NB recently used servers will be available in the drop-down.

Input your credentials and click ok.

NB. These instructions are for Windows server 2008, if your server is Windows server 2003 the process will differ slightly but is very similar.
